The Daily Kong

Play of the Day!

The Play of the Day is a daily column where I showcase my personal pick of the best game uploaded the day before.
Nice concept for a game. This one is very simple, but the idea of the game, and the graphics (that aren't amazing, but they suit the game more than good) make an easy, and addictive game. You got to change the story of a really strange love triangle taking photos, and moving the objets you photographed. You just have to use your mouse, so it is really simple. I highly suggest you to try it, though it doesn't have any replay value.
Here a little walkthrough I did for the game:

Kongregate News
Kongregate always has some kind of news, we're in beta! What's going on recently with Kongregate and the Kongregate community.

The new challenge, "Lighting the Darkness Challenge" is for colourPod 2: dimensionPod by dapbot. The game is really funny, and the challenge isn't hard at all. Marquis Le Morte is quite useful, so enjoy it!
That was all for today, enjoy!

Play of the Day

Death Dice Overdose

Fun trippy avoider, enough said. Seriously though this game is beautifully done, it takes a lame overdone concept and makes it beautiful, funny, and actually well received. I say good job GregAnims. The only thing that could make it better today would be ducks. Read more on this article...

The Daily Kong.

Play of the Day!
The Play of the Day is a daily column where I showcase my personal pick of the best game uploaded the day before.

A tower defense game, not very original, and with very few improvments. The gameplay is nice, and the graphics are cute. The sound effects are very good, but the game doesn't have anything more to offer. It has three difficult settings; 30 easy levels, 50 normal levels or 50 hard levels. The game isn't frustating like other Tower defense games, and it is quite addictive.

Controls: Pick up towers from the right and drop them in the play field on the left using the mouse, then click the start button when you are ready to start.
If you are a fan of Tower defense games, this one is for you, but if you are new at this genre, this one might be a little too hard for you.

Kongregate News
Kongregate always has some kind of news, we're in beta! What's going on recently with Kongregate and the Kongregate community.
Kongregate is really changing a lot, every week we got new features, updates, and exiting news. This time, Kongregate had a change of look:

1- The featured games scroll now shows seven games instead of four.

2- Yes, Kongreate has a new look. That bar is new, and you will see six options (Home, Games, Achievements, Community, Developers and Help) and if you put your mouse over them, you'll see more options displayed. Well, with that feature it seems that every user is going to save a lot of time, so enjoy it!

3- The sign out option is next to your name.

-Also, the forums have a different look.

Yes, a new challenge! For light-bot, and the challenge's name is: "Robotic Puppetmaster Challenge", Complete level 7 – You must then progress to level 8. You'll adquire the Jade Figurine. Enjoy that wonderful game, that has two badges (Easy and hard badges).

With 25 games uploaded to Kongregate so far and the majority of which are above 3 stars this developer has created multiple great rhythm based games. Play of the Day!

The Play of the Day is a daily column where I showcase my personal pick of the best game uploaded the day before.

Are you searching something funny, simple, and that needs a lot of reflexes? Well, this game is for you. Color Infection is like a sequel of pDecathlon - the hardest physics game , with some improvments. It has a nice gameplay, and is quite challenging.
Controls: Left-Click a destroyable object (pink color) to destroy it. Press R to restart. Press 0-9 set the corresponding time scale. Press ~ or NUMPAD / to set time scale 0.5 (slow motion).

It takes a lot of patience, and is hard, but it isn't frustating and it is addictive, and very addictive. So, if you enjoyed pDecathlon - the hardest physics game and pSports , give this one a try!

Interview with Moonkey.

This is lightsun again, this time, with an interview to Moonkey, a very famous developer. He uploaded games as Hexiom, Monter Master, etc. His newest game, Hexiom Connect, adquired some badges, and a card. Here the interview,I hope you enjoy it as I did:

lightsun:Thank you for accepting, Moonkey. First, I’d like to congratulate you, for your newest game, and the achievements/ card it won.

Moonkey:Thank you. My first time being interviewed.

lightsun:Well, now I’ll proceed to ask the first question:

When did you decided to start your carreer as flash developer?

Moonkey:About a year and a half ago I decided to try to make a living out of flash. I had done a Diploma of Multimedia the previous year which taught me the basics, and I had some prior prgramming knowledge that allowed me to pick it up quickly. I made Monster Master just for fun, mainly for my nephew who was into Yugioh at the time, and then realized that you could actually make money out of flash.. so that's what I decided to do.

lightsun:Which of the games you uploaded here is your favorite one?

Moonkey:My favourite is Paladin. It was the most challenging to make, and took a long time to finish. I'd seen Jazza's Paladin series before, so when I saw him advertising for a coder to make a game with, I knew we could make something pretty cool. It wasn't all that well received at Kong, but it was nominated for a tank award over at Newgrounds.

lightsun:When did you decide to start with Hexiom Connect?

Moonkey:A few months ago now. The game was finished for quite a while before I got around to putting on the finishing touches and releasing it. When I first thought of the idea, it wasn't meant to be a sequel to Hexiom, but I realized that the concept could be adjusted a little bit and kept the theme going.

lightsun:Do you spend any time on Kongregate?

Moonkey:Yup, I drop by all the time. I don't hang around in chat too much, but I've picked up all the cards since I first visited Kong.

lightsun:Which is your favorite game?

Moonkey: Monsters' Den has eaten up a good chunk of time, but Garin and I are brothers so I may be biased. I just finished playing through Battalion: Nemesis and liked that. I've always been a fan of turn based strategy games.

lightsun:And, finally; Are you planning to do another game, maybe another Hexiom sequel?

Moonkey:At the moment I'm working on the demo version of Brotherhood of Battle - an online strategy game that Jazza and I have been working on for most of the year. Hopefully we can have that up on Kong this week or the next. As for another Hexiom sequel, I'm not too sure. I've had an idea or two, but may be running out of room for originality with that concept.

lightsun:Thank you again for accepting this interview so kindly. Good luck, and take care.

Moonkey: Cheers :)

That was all for today, thank you Moonkey, once again! Read more on this article...

The Daily Kong- More updates.

Kongregate News
Kongregate always has some kind of news, we're in beta! What's going on recently with Kongregate and the Kongregate community.

This is lightsun, again; And talking about the new updates that Kongregate suffered this week. I will give you another list, so here we go:

1st: Yes, a Kongai card album, and it looks great. With the information of every set, and the card art, this improvment adds a lot to the game. You can check which cards you are missing, the versions of the cards you already got, and the data of each character.
Remember that the "Man Versus Machine Challenge" is back, and is going to stay there for 24 days.

2nd: Kongregate game's comments doesn't allow Textile now.

3rd: For those who are active at the forums; The Reporting posts sticky had an update. Now, it is a form.

-Those were the updates, but don't worry, there are more news!

Notable Forum Posts
Here's a place where the forum gets spotlighted upon, every day there are great threads and here's a spot to keep up on at least a few.

Argue Beta Testers

Well, Battalion: Nemesis has the "Tactical Destruction Challenge" (Destroy 50 enemy units – This can be done on any map and on any difficulty setting, including boot camp), and the reward is the "Girdle of Iron Will" .This game is really awesome, and it was inspired by "Advance wars". This game is full of colours, nice characters, with a nice and childish vision of a war. The sound effects are brilliant, as the gameplay. You will enjoy this game, that also has four badges (One easy, two mediums, and a hard one).

That was all for today. Enjoy! Read more on this article...
